The Sultan Kudarat Islamic Academy Foundation College released the Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) stipend of its grantees for the First Semester of Academic Year (A.Y.) 2019-2020 on May 19, 2020 at the SKIA Founders’ Hall in compliance with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) to expedite the disbursement within one (1) week upon receipt of the fund.
The academy has a total of Three Hundred Forty Six (346) grantees for the said semester from first (1st) to fourth (4th) year college students. Each of them received their stipend of Twenty Thousand Pesos (PhP 20, 000.00) with their respective parent to witness the releasing and co-sign on the sharing agreement while strictly following social distancing in line with COVID-19 precautionary measures.
The said stipend of the grantees should be spent for their textbooks or other learning materials, any further academic and extracurricular expenses, stipends (including food, lodging, clothing, transportation, health or medical needs, and school supplies) and other related costs needed to complete the beneficiary’s education. This is under the section 7 of Republic Act (R.A.) No. 10931 known as the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act that is being implemented by CHED’s Unified Financial Assistance System for Tertiary Education (UniFAST).
