The Sultan Kudarat Islamic Academy celebrated its 28th Founding Anniversary and Intramural 2019 last September 22-27, 2019 with the theme: “SKIA @ 28th: Aim High, Soar High”. The Faculty and students from elementary annex to college
departments participated in the weeklong celebration categorized into two groups. The participants under the Category A were the Elementary Annex Baby Sharks, Grade 7 Wild Vipers, and Grade 8 Valorous Panthers. Grade 9 Blazing Tigers, Grade 10 Blue Wolves, Senior High Soaring Eagles and College Roaring Lions comprised the Category B.
Founding anniversary and intramural is an annual program at the academy. During the celebration, several contests, activities and events were competed. A number of festival rides like Viking, Octopus and Dinosaurs were set-up to accommodate the individuals and groups.
During the opening program, Mr. Acob S. Duloan, Physical Education and School Sports Coordinator (PESS) of DepEd-BARMM, Division
of Maguindanao 2, was the guest speaker. In his message, he expressed his gratitude to the administration and faculty for being invited to the event. He also shared some of his experiences as sports enthusiast. Finally, he encouraged the participants and contingents about the value of competitions. “It is not only winning that is the primary concern but also camaraderie and teamwork that is built between and among the individuals and teams”, he said.
The highlights of the celebration were the Kagalawan 2019 which was done in the morning of Sunday, September 22; Kulintang Ensemble, Cheer Dance and Cultural Dance Competitions which were competed in the afternoons of September 25, 26 and 27, respectively.
