SKIA College Notable Alumni Nominations Open

March 14, 2024 – Nominations for Notable Alumni and Service awards are open this SY2024 as part of the SKIA College’s Homecoming Celebration. The nomination period opens through April-May each year to Alums who demonstrate loyalty, support and advocate for our Islamic educational institution and its mission.

The nomination forms will be available on the SKIA College website and at SKIA broadcasting center. To qualify, eligible nominees will have been enrolled in a full-time regular course of study at this college for a minimum of two years prior to graduation.

Nominators of famous graduates to the Notable Alums list are not required to be alumni of SKIA College. But, in addition to completing and submitting the Award Nomination Form (required), nominators must provide three letters of support from non-family members (required) and other items of interest that distinguish the nominee in professional achievement, service to community, and service and support to SKIA College.

SKIA College Senior Leadership takes pride in those pioneers who were honored the First Decade Awards as true measure of distinction reflective of its core values and traditions of excellence. In keeping with this practice, the top leaders will select and present annually the Distinguished Alumnus citation recognizing Alums or Friends who have made continued service and commitment to the college.

The SKIA Alumni Board will honor outstanding former students to celebrate their achievements. The recipients of distinguished Young Alums Service Awards shall be within fifteen years of his or her completion of college. The Board also presents recognition to honor faculty members or staff who show extraordinary commitment to the support of alumni.

Nominators are any of our alumnus or alumna, any member of alumni organization or chapter, and any member of the college administration, faculty or staff.

Employees of SKIA, current Alumni Association Board of Directors and our college’s Board of Trustees are not eligible nominees during their term of employment or volunteer service.

Criteria for selection will be accomplished in distinct areas: (a) how the eligible nominee exemplifies leadership in his or her chosen field of endeavor; (b) how the recipient exhibits commitment to improve the lives of others by volunteer efforts; (c) how the award honoree engages in the life of the college by giving of their time, talent and resources.
