Faculty, Admin Undergo 5-day INSET

The faculty members and administrative staff from elementary to college departments of Sultan Kudarat Islamic Academy Foundation College underwent a five-day Summer In-Service Training (INSET) last May 27-31, 2019.  The training which was chaired and co-chaired by registrar Edris B. Mastura and principal Rocaya G. Edres, respectively was held at the Founders’ Hall of this Academy.

The program was divided into two parts. The first part was the re-echo of the seminars and trainings attended by the selected teachers from junior and senior high school departments.  Some of the topics in the said part were 21st Century Skills, Learning Progression and Power Standards, Strategies for Acquisition and Making Meaning and Types of Assessment.

The second part was the INSET proper.  Various topics and lectures such as Classroom Management, Anti-Bullying Policy, Work Ethics, Assessment of Student Learning, Grading System and E-Class Record, and Leadership and Management Styles were discussed.  Two guest lecturers namely Ms. Cherry D. Delfino and Mrs. Dorothy Villafuerte discussed the topics Phonemic Awareness and Use of SRA, respectively.

Series of fora and workshops were done to clarify vague points and to apply the concepts which the participants have learned and acquired.

The training aimed to equip the teachers and admin staff with the skills and knowledge needed as they perform their duties and responsibilities in the Academy.

The program concluded with the awarding of certificates to the participants and lecturers.
