BARMM MOLE MINISTER SEMA HANDS OVER CAP FUND

September 23, 2020, Member of the Parliament (MP) and Minister of the Ministry of Labor and Employment (MOLE)

  Romeo K. Sema of the Bangsamoro Autonomous  Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) handed over the COVID-19 Assistance Program (CAP) Fund to the faculty and staff of the Sultan Kudarat Islamic Academy. Private schools like SKIA is one of the identified beneficiaries of the CAP Fund for the formal sector.

Of the BARMM’s 12, 000 or so Formal Sector workers to be given the MOLE’s CAP fund, SKIA’s 116 workers are the first ones to receive the grant amounting to Php 580, 000.00 and SKIA as the first Formal Sector entity to receive such. The release of the fund was facilitated by the MOLE staff particularly by the Bureau of Labor Relation and Standards (BLRS) headed by Mr. Abdulrakman Nor.

Before the release of the financial aid, a short program was conducted. In his message, Minister Sema mentioned that BARMM Chief Minister Ahod Balawag Ebrahim, Al-hadj had personally instructed his financial team to find ways in funding the needed amount to financially aid the formal labor sector of the Bangsamoro Region.

Present also during the program were the consultant of the MOLE Minister Sheik Marhan M. Borhan, SKIA President and CEO Atty. Datu Michael O. Mastura, VP Ismael V. Mastura, Al-hadj and other school officials and administrative staff.

The aim of the COVID-19 Assistance Program is to provide financial aid to the formal labor sector which experienced layoffs and retrenchment due to the slowdown of the economy brought about by COVID community quarantines.
